Looking to update your summer wardrobe?

Check out this new website: www.PlanetMomTshirts.com. A little over a year ago, these sexy, fitted tees with irreverent, mom-ccentric phrases started being sold with cute sayings such as:

Trophy Wife
Chicken Nuggets or Pizza?
I need a playdate
Secretary of Transportation
Kids are my Workout
Because I Said So
Mother Superior
Whine? No. Wine? Yes.
Seeking Tall, Dark, Rich cup of coffee and many more...

Kathy Griffin just wore two of the shirts - Whine? No. Wine? Yes. and Botox Free on "My Life on the D List" this past week.  They have also been featured on the Today Show, the View, Fox & Friends, ABC's Satellite Sisters and CBS radio.

The company also offers tees, hoodies, yoga-style pants, hats, briefs and nighties.

Buckingham Babies: Great new catalogue.

We discovered this upscale catalogue and full website recently -  www.buckinghambabies.com  -  It features fabulous products for baby, the nursery, family and friends.

Many of their products are their own signature designs (baby bedding with golden threaded frogs, sheer overlays, and an heirloom 24-karat gold calligraphied initial for babies), a few exclusive products as well as the tried and true.  They are also the first retailer to offer a PINK Silver Cross pram - it's really very cool!

Looking for something really special to celebrate babies first birthday?

Look at Hello Beautiful Films is a service for families created to capture the extraordinary and everyday moments in the life of their baby. The films forever capture this amazing yet fleeting beginning of a family's life.

They construct documentary 'portraits' of children to serve as a tribute to the memories of each family. Each film is completely tailored to the client's vision and typically incorporates professionally shot video of their baby playing,  old home video shot by the family, the family interacting with the baby, the family' s home, and interviews with family and friends.

Hello Beautiful Films recently began a collaboration with Albert Maysles. Albert Maysles is the infamous director of "Gray Gardens" and "Gimme Shelter."  They have put together the "Albert Maysles Package" where Mr. Maysles does the camera work for the family's video.  They are the first company to do anything like this.  Never before was someone able to have one of the greatest filmmakers come to their home and make a documentary about their baby.  No one on earth can make the most mundane events in some one's everyday life look as interesting as Mr. Maysles.

A few fun things to do this summer…

Nina Drapacz takes photographic portraiture to the level of fine art her portraits have a timeless look and a make classic statement. She is a former apprentice to Richard Avedon and puts a priority on capturing a child’s personality- something beyond a smile. Working only with a medium format camera and printing the photographs from negatives by hand in the darkroom gives each photograph its rich one of a kind quality and renders it archival. She also specializes in hand painted black and white prints.

Nina has been photographing children for over 14 years here in New York City. She is currently offering an additional 2 5x7 enlargements to her package. The portrait sitting needs to be booked on or before July 30th, 2006. This gift is good for the entire summer. Nina will also be photographing families this summer in the Hamptons. You can view her work at www.fotonina.com

Too Busy to Diet? All You Have to do is Eat!

Congratulations! If you're reading this, you're a new mom. The joys of motherhood are endless and you adore devoting all of your energies to your little bundle of love. But what about you? Is the figure you were once proud of a fading memory? Are you simply too busy to make sound nutritional decisions, much less cook or frequent the supermarket? The answer is simple: eat, eat, eat, eat, and eat—literally. According to Certified Nutritional Consultant and Founder of 5 squares™ healthy eating plan, Monica Lynn, it’s as easy as 1-2-3-4-5!

5 squares is a company dedicated to helping individuals achieve their maximum potential of health and wellness. The plan will guide and help you meet your weight, dietary, and nutrition-related goals, by delivering lower-fat foods—free of dairy, wheat, and refined sugar, never frozen, and always clean—right to your door before 6 a.m., three to seven days a week. Because you have your five meals for the day (breakfast, lunch, dinner, and two snacks), you have the power to eat properly, the right amount, and the best nutritional calories.

Endorsed by leading nutritionists and dietitians, the plan’s psychological advantage is that you never have to think about preparing foods or counting calories. The 5-meal advantage is that by consuming smaller amounts of food five times daily, your blood sugar stays steady and you don’t have a chance to get hungry or experience the cravings that take us off our diets. (Digestion is the number two calorie burner next to working out.) And, finally, the support advantage is that you receive the personal attention and motivation needed to guide you through each week. If you don’t like a particular food (or 10) you’ll never have to eat it!

5 squares serves Westchester, Manhattan, The Bronx, and Fairfield County, Connecticut.

For information, call 1-866-5WE-COOK or sign up online at www.5squares.com

Being a mom is one of the hardest jobs in the world (as you probably know already…).

There is help available by way of Claudia Heilbrunn who is a “Life Coach” with an emphasis on first time moms.

According to Claudia: “Professional life coaches provide an ongoing partnership with their clients designed to help clients produce fulfilling and satisfying results in their lives. Coaches are trained to listen, to observe and to customize their work to the needs of their individual clients. Life
Coaches believe that the client is naturally creative and resourceful and trust that the client has inherent wisdom which, when tapped, will lead the client on the right path. Rather than offer advice, coaches seek to elicit solutions and strategies from their client.”

Baby Talk
Did you know your baby is acquiring language skills even before he or she can talk? By listening to the people around them, your baby's brain is making important language connections. Try these tips to help your baby begin to acquire language skills:

  • Use dramatic facial expressions and hand gestures
  • Create imaginary play situations by talking for dolls or plush animals
  • Speak in varied pitches
  • Read and sing to baby
  • Name things or activities as you go through your day

This tip is brought to you by the very smart husband and wife team from So Smart! Products. Check out their products in sosmart.com and find some more great tips on their website.
