the Author Pamela Weinberg is co-author of City Baby, the best selling parenting guidebook. This indispensable resource guide for parents, written with Kelly Ashton, is in its third edition and has been called “The Bible for New York City parents.” The City Baby guide answers the many big and little questions that expectant and new parents ponder. Topics include important pregnancy to pre-school advice such as: how to decide on your nanny, pediatrician and doula; where to find the best bargains on baby clothes or that one-of-a-kind crib; where to hold a birthday party on a budget; etc. City Baby also provides readers many “insider” tips that save time and aggravation for busy New York City parents. Publisher Rizzoli plans to roll out City Baby to Chicago in 2004, with more cities to follow. In addition to her writing, Pamela runs the weekly New Mothers’ Luncheon on New York’s West Side in conjunction with Ronni Soled. These informational get-togethers have become a staple for mothers new to child rearing. Pamela’s presentations at the luncheon include: ‘Ten Great Things To Do with your Baby in New York,’ ‘Tips for Traveling with your Baby,’ and ‘Best Infant Classes in New York.’ Pamela also appears quarterly at the East Side New Mothers’ Luncheon and at a variety of special events for new mothers. Answering another need, Pamela and Ronni have recently initiated a new venture - Expectant Mom Seminars. These already sold-out seminars are devoted to topics– from shopping strategies, to childcare, to adapting to new motherhood- that confront pregnant women in New York. Widely quoted in the expectant and new mom media, Pamela has been interviewed on New York One and Saturday Today in New York. Her column on travel with kids at the holidays appeared in the Holiday 2003 issue of Martha Stewart Living. Pamela’s latest venture is the City Baby web site (www.citybabyny.com). Its mission is to keep new and expectant mothers in the know about the latest trends and developments on the baby and child scene. The site lists and links to stores, new shops, events, products, books and information for parents. Through the site, users can reach Pamela and have her answer questions.
